Holiday Gifts for the Hearing Impacted 2017Well, another year is almost complete. We hope that your holiday season is filled with fun in the sun and with your family and friends. It’s been a year for the books, and we’re excited to send it out with a bang before starting fresh. One of our favourite parts of the year winding down is the gratitude associated. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our valued customer base, and share our appreciation for your support. Our gift will be to continue our escalated support, our thirst for knowledge, and our dedication towards maximizing your quality of life, no matter what state your hearing may be. Cheers to you, cheers to our partnership and cheers to the new years ahead!

Sappy diatribe complete. While we’d like to pretend that gift-giving is of no consequence to us, that would be unrealistic. Here are some fun gifts, both tangible and not, that will earn you a smile and a hug, this holiday season.

We guess that the sappy diatribe isn’t yet complete. Let’s kick things off with a gift that’s not quite as tangible. The holidays can be a really tough time for family and friends that are impacted by hearing loss. The gift of support and understanding could not be better reinforced. This can be represented in all sorts of situations. Let’s say that important holiday tradition has been enjoying carollers or traditional music… in a live environment. You have so many options that won’t limit the experience for anyone with hearing loss. Do your research in advance to see if the venue has thought about its different audiences. Bring along noise-cancelling headphones that they can use, and in general- be sensitive to what their mood may be.

One of the biggest trends this year has been hearables. Hearables aren’t even designed just for those with hearing loss, but they happen to have made a huge indent in the market. Unfamiliar with the term? They’re essentially devices which enhance a hearing experience. They can be linked to multiple other health monitors including but not limited to heart monitors. The Bragi Dash, a pair of wireless and Bluetooth headphones, is an example of one to check out.

Custom alarm clocks are also sweeping the nation, and the globe, as a line of popular gifts. You can find vibrating options like the SmartShaker or those that gradually allow light into the room, like those designed by Philips. Either way, you’re helping those closest to you wake up and start their best day possible.

These are just the tip of the technology-driven gifts. It seems that everywhere you look, companies and designers are coming up with new and innovative ways to ensure that those with hearing loss have days that are enhanced, not negatively impacted. Questions? Comments? Give us a shout. The Hearlink team would love to hear from you and plan the best gift for your loved ones this holiday season.
